Search expands for Miss India Fiji representative

THE search for ZAR Logistics Miss India Fiji contestants will move to the Western Division today after two successful auditions in the Central Division.

And the organisers are putting a premium on finding girls with talent to compete for the title of Miss India Fiji.

Former Miss India Fiji Naziah Ali said the auditions in Suva on Friday night had been much better than the first round of auditions.

"Since it's still a new pageant people are still finding out what it's all about. They first thought the pageant was about beauty and brains but there is a lot of points given as well for talent," Ms Ali said.

"We need girls who have really unique talents, it could be Indian related or just something different."

Ms Ali said 15 to 17 girls would be picked to vie for the title of Miss India Fiji.

"We have picked ten contestants from the applicants in the two auditions and we will look to pick another five to seven girls from auditions in the west," she added.

"The west auditions will be held tomorrow (today) at the Hexagon hotel between one and three in the afternoon and we would like to encourage girls who want to compete to come and audition," she said.

"If they have talents that they think should be showcased on stage, then we would definitely welcome them," she said.

The winner of the Miss India Fiji title will represent the country at the Miss India Worldwide Pageant, which is celebrating its 22nd year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia early next year.
